My Summer Essentials

Essentials for face:

Where I live it is beyond hot already so anything that goes on the face goes right back off so a small amount of makeup does the job. For myself a BB cream just does not do its job. I have combination skin more oily than anything so it looks like a hot mess after an hour in the heat! I love love love MAC studio fix powder/foundation on the face. It stays put and gives a good coverage without all the extraness. Put a little concealer to hide those mommy circles under that with of course a moisturizer or primer (use MAC Fix+ as a moisturizer) Throw on some bronze eye shadow and you are good to go. The last essential which I think is a big plus is MACs Fix+ it sets the makeup so it does not move and also gives a hydrating feel for the face. Having this in your makeup bag is a need for whenever it gets too hot outside. just spray a few sprits on the face and the hotness goes away.

Essentials on the lips/cheeks:

Throw on some bronzer to give that beautiful glow with any fave blush; mine is Luminoso by Milani; and a coat of mascara and you are set. As for the lips pink anything! I love pink lips for the summer so a tinted moisturizer, or a lipstick and it sets the whole look and adds that extra umf to your flawless summer look without having that full face on.

These are my summer essentials and are what I have been going for. for the past few days and probably the next few weeks since the heat is only getting hotter!! what are your summer essentials?

Obsessing!!

These three I have been obsessing over and can not get enough of! I am going to go in the order that they are swatched in.

    1. MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden - I am actually very surprised I have not hit pan this product because of how much I have used it since purchasing it in the beginning of the year. It has an orange tint to it but it is not an overwhelming orange. It is perfect to achieve that summer bronzed look. Although it looks pretty sheer in the picture I promise that it is not. It does have shimmer but it is the right amount of it and it does not fall all crazy when applying it to the forehead or cheek.
   2. NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium - this is a new purchase and I love it. To me it resembles Benefits Hoola but Hoola is a tad darker than this one. Goes on beautifully and is my fave to use for contouring.
   3. MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre - I have used other bases and primers but this is my all time favorite  base. It stays put and does not crease even on a hot day. The best buy I have come by!!

Face brushes & Blush brushes

Foundation brushes:

    1. Mary Kay foundation brush- this was my first foundation brush ever. it quickly got replaced because it was to streaky and did not blend well. I now use it for concealer since that it less product to work with.
    2. Sigma flat kabuki F80- I LOVE this brush!! I got this brush thanks to miss >> Jaclyn Hill << one of my fave youtubers. She is always raving about this brush so I finally purchased it & it quickly turned into my all time fave brush to use. Blends and buffs so easily without any streaks. Can also use it with powder foundation which is what I use it with also.
    3. Real techniques expert face brush- this is actually a new purchase from my mini Ulta haul. It is so soft on the face and it blends so well. it puts the foundation on a little sheer but it works because then you are able to build up your foundation. Perfect for a beginner and is cheaper than the sigma brush. If you are looking for a good foundation brush and don't want to spend too much then this would be a perfect buy.
I do not have a stippling brush shown because I actually do not care for them. They are a little too streaky for me. If I had to recommend a stippling brush it would be the MAC 130. That is the only brush that I have found that does not leave any streaks and blends perfect.

Blush/ Contour brushes:

     1. Real techniques setting brush- it is a setting brush for either setting concealer under the eyes or other areas. I actually prefer it for my contour. It gives a more defined contour. You can go in softly and buff it out or you can do a dramatic contour either way it blends so well and outs the right amount of product on the face.
     2. Real techniques blush brush- It is so soft on the face. I use it for setting my powder or buffing out my contour.
     3. Forever 21 angled blush brush- this brush came from a brush set I purchased a year ago. absolutely love this brush. puts the perfect amount of blush on the cheeks and it is not too soft.
     4. Elf blush brush- this is my highlighter brush / under eye setting brush. Did not do its job for me applying blush but its perfect for highlighting.

Maybelline makeup remover vs ELF makeup cleansing cloth

On the top is the Maybelline face/eye makeup remover. It removes makeup really good but sometimes it felt like I needed to wash my face after because it felt as though my mascara or foundation was not off. Really loved the moisturized feeling it left because I struggle with dry spots on my cheeks so I would not have to use a moisturizer afterwards.
On the bottom is the ELF makeup cleansing cloths. It has aloe vera in it so it leaves the skin ultra silky; no moisturizer needed after use. I use this now afterwards to take off any excess makeup that was left over from the Maybelline makeup remover. It removes mascara and gel liner very easy and no needed face washing after use.
 First impression-
Maybelline would be for people that use less makeup such as a BB cream rather than a full face.
ELF is a great buy considering it is only three dollars. It removes makeup just by using this by itself or also a use for after another product if you would want that extra clean.

(this is strictly my own opinion. Love both products just feel that they are for two different uses.)

My first MAC

My first MAC purchases were these two eyeshadows Romp and Amber Lights (amber lights was fixed using rubbing alcohol after my son got a hold of it). Romp is a dark brown that has just enough shimmer. Can be used in the outer v or all over lid for a smokey eye. Amber lights is a great shimmer for right in the middle of your eyelid which gives your eyes that extra effect. It is also great for summer bronze looks. What was your first MAC purchases??

Lets Get Naked....

Urban Decay Naked
   - Absolutly love this pallet!! The eyeshadows are cool tone and neautral so it makes it easy to use everyday. Buck can be used in the crease with a blending brush to make your eye have more depth. Use it in the outer V to mid crease lightly and you have  prettiest crease color. Naked is another great crease color to start with then add buck on top with a winged liner and you have and everyday neautral eye. This is the first Naked pallet but i find myself reaching for this at least everyday no matter the look I am going for.
